6. Which brings me to the point at issue in our discussions: the matter of history. Miautre and choragraphy are in the tradition of the memory palace, including its appropriation in the Renaissance and after by the esoteric hermetic developments that included the "hermeticizing" of Tarot into an oracle, continuing through avant-garde arts poetics (Symbolists, Duchamp, Surrealists). What does Miautre "remember"? The inclusion of history in the database is what lends it an oracular capacity, in that history exposes the "propensity of things," the vectors, the movement of time, the forces at work in a given situation. The history referred to is archetypal, mythological: historical realities selected from the plethora of events and transformed into precedents for thought and action. This collection of precedents constitute the paradigm (default moods, exemplary examples) of a society's world-view (its metaphysics, establishing how things are, what is real). The mystory captures these default precedents in the popcycle discourses, replacing the Minor Arcana of Tarot. The emblems of these archetypes should be included in the database of Miautre, certainly not with the same degree of detail as the Major Arcana, but as relays out to the Web/Internet (in the online version). These histories have already been compressed into emblematic scenarios within cultural literacy (cognitive map of the culture). At one level these emblems may be used in the local database as relays out to the Web; at the same time, as a capturing of practical reason (the effect of persuasion in policy formation is created by appealing to what the citizens already believe), a service of a chora should be to decompress the scenario, to show the path of the enthymeme.
